To say that 2016 was a hard year would be an understatement, but this foundation has given us a small sliver of hope and thanks to the support of our community, something to be proud of. Our original goal was to raise $10,000 for pediatric cancer research and support and thanks to you all, we actually doubled that! You were there for the day in the park event, the golf tournament, you wear our shirts and hats to raise awareness of the issues we are facing and you support what we are doing whenever you get the chance. Now you all get to see what your contributions mean. UC Davis has created the “Lily Chiquet Strength Foundation Pediatric Oncology Support Fund” (really long name, but it’s official) with the contributions you all have made. This fund will allow the pediatric oncology team to use the funds to help families of pediatric cancer patients as well as the children themselves, and be flexible enough to allow funding to go to research when they need it as well. We have a lot planned for this year with our events as well as our first program that Michelle is putting together for newly diagnosed families and it is something we hope you are as excited as we are about. It’s beginning to look a lot like progress over here. Thank you all so much!
